As we round another corner of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our daily lives globally, MRS will convene the 2021 MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibit as a hybrid event.
The Boston experience (November 29-December 2) will include in-person opportunities to hear leading-edge science, meet with colleagues, and explore a robust exhibit hall. Select content from the in-person meeting will be live-streamed to the virtual audience the week of November 29, and in-person meeting attendees will also enjoy access to the full virtual experience the week of December 6.
The virtual experience will bring exceptional meeting content to attendees worldwide with live online, pre-recorded, and on-demand scientific sessions. Virtual attendees will also be able to view live streams of select featured talks and sessions from the Boston experience during the week of November 29.
No matter how you attend, the 2021 MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibit will continue to showcase leading-edge materials research in both fundamental and applied areas, with seven topical clusters:
- materials computing and data science
- electronics, optics and quantum
- energy and sustainability
- biomaterials and soft materials
- structural and functional materials
- broader impact
One symposium in this year’s Broader Impact cluster will focus on developing an open source introductory materials science textbook. The other will highlight and celebrate women in materials science and their impact on and contributions to the field.
