Blogger Araceli HG

Hi, my name is Araceli Hernández Granados  and I am doing my postdoc at the Instituto de Ciencias Físicas (ICF) at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) located in Cuernavaca, Morelos. The research that I am developing its: “Mesoporous Titanium Dioxide (mp-TiO2) layers with plasma treatments for perovskites, Sb2S3 and Sb2(SxSe1-x)3  solar cells”.

I am so happy to be part for 3rd time blogger for the MRS, but this is my first time as a blogger at the beautiful city of Boston! Can’t wait to write about this amazing experience and opportunity!

I am interested on energy conversion topics, flexible solar cells, recycling metals by electrochemical methods, polymeric solar cells and so on.

I will be presenting my poster on Monday (December 2, 2019), titled: “Effect of Plasma Treatment in the Sb2S3 and Sb2(SxSe1-x)3 Solar Cells in Order to Improve Their Photovoltaic Characteristics. ID: EN12.04.33 at Hynes, Level 1, Hall B. Feel free to join me.

MRS 2019 fall meeting and exhibit is waiting for you.


The 2019 Materials Research Society Fall Meeting & Exhibit opens this Sunday

The 2019 Materials Research Society Fall Meeting & Exhibit, in Boston, Massachusetts is being held on December 1-6, 2019 with 54 symposia and several tutorialsprofessional development seminarsinformation on accessing National Laboratory User Facilitiesoutreach opportunities, and numerous other activities and eventsAward presentations include studies in nano-, bio-, and quantum materials; and the plenary session features the Fred Kavli Distinguished Lectureship in Materials Science.

Many exhibitors will feature products and services at the Meeting. Exhibit hours are Tuesday & Wednesday, 11:00 am-5:30 pm, and Thursday, 10:00 am-1:30 pm, at Hynes Convention Center, Level 2.

During the meeting, MRS will post news and highlights by on-the-spot reporters on this Meeting Scene blog. The news will also be distributed daily in the Meeting Scene newslettersubscribe here.

Making the most out of MRS Meetings

Rahim Munir and Ahmed E. Mansour have previously posted a blog piece about how to make the most out of conferences, particularly geared toward the young professional. Their suggestions continue to be relevant for this Fall’s MRS Meeting, though you should look to the 2019 MRS Fall Meeting website for updates to the app and to special events and activities. Student and post-doc reporters and bloggers for the 2019 MRS Fall Meeting—Applications now being accepted

Graduate students and post-docs who are interested in contributing to the Meeting Scene® newsletter and the Meeting Blog for the 2019 MRS Fall Meeting are encouraged to apply. Reporters will be required to attend talks in a variety of symposia and write brief summaries (100-250 words) of four talks each day; bloggers will be required to post at least five items per day and also tweet about their experiences at the meeting. For completing these daily assignments, reporters and bloggers will receive reimbursement up to the student registration rate and a $50 stipend.

To apply, please send an email to [email protected] stating your qualifications and your reasons for wanting to report or blog for us. We need only four reporters and four bloggers, so we will not be able to accept everyone who applies. We look forward to hearing from you! #f19mrs
