I met Lucy Whalley in HI Boston (Hostel I am staying in). She's my first international room mate! :) Lucy is pursuing Ph.D. from Imperial college of London in the area which is an amalgamation of three major things - 'defects, solar cells and simulation.' While having a conversation with her on various challenges and her approach towards PhD, she said -
PhD is more about questioning the application and usage of end product!
The line touched a chord in my heart.
Isn't it sad to invest 4-5 years (of Ph.D.) doing things without questioning how it's beneficial to the common, to the society and to the environment?
