As I post this, we're a mere 71 days away from the start of the 2008 MRS Fall Meeting. As always, activity here at HQ is picking up -- we have our first F08-specific all-staff meeting tomorrow, which means it won't be long now before we're on those planes up to Boston.
(A little side-note here -- I don't know about YOUR airport, but here in Pittsburgh the number of flights has been drastically reduced, meaning we have a lot less flexibility in terms of getting to and from Boston. Most of us head out on the Friday or Saturday before the meeting, which is Thanksgiving weekend here in the States. At least most of us will still be able to get direct flights to Boston. San Francisco in the spring is going to be another story. I've had bad luck with having to transfer flights to San Fran -- particularly in terms of having my luggage accompany me on the trip....)
Anyway, we are indeed getting geared up for the meeting. Online registration is now officially open. Register before 5 p.m. (ET) on November 14 to take advantage of discounted preregistration pricing.
There are a ton of Special Events this time around -- I won't list them all here, but I do want to point out the Nuclear Power Forum, which has an excellent list of guest speakers and should be a highly worthwhile event.
Proceedings Submission will run from November 3 through November 24.
Lots more info to come. Stay tuned.
