Skating through the meeting

I was surprised to see a woman standing up and taking off her shoes on the first floor of the Moscone Center yesterday at about 4:30 in the afternoon. My first thought was a flashback to airport security, with everyone removing their shoes for security inspection. Then I noticed she was putting on a rather fancy set of rollerblades. Soon she was skating across the conference center, out the door, and out of sight on the Streets of San Francisco. I've never seen that at a science conference before! Pretty cool.
